Just updated all this mare's details. Photos after editorial. More photos available on request.
Roc My Freckle is another very good Outback Roc daughter. She is a nice minded filly, who has been well started with Challenges and Campdrafts in mind. She has been mustering and done lots of weaner tailing. She has done a lot of mustering in very rough country at our Mt Isa property the last 2 years, and is a good mare to ride mustering.
She has just had near 6 weeks constant work in preparation to draft her next year. She was worked on Bison and weaner cattle in the arena and cut out yard, and is going very well. She will easily draft in 2012 competitively. She was also used to educate 30 weanlings to lead off horse back etc.. Her dry work is nice, basic and correct. She has not been rushed along, but everything is pretty nice. This is a very nice filly out of an awesome family. Her dam just keeps producing great fillies, and so she should, being a full sister to Apricot Oak, Oaks Golddust, Peaches N Oak and a 3/4 sister to Teak N Oak & Admiral Oak.
We found out by accident really that this mare is just SUPER quiet with kids. You can just saddle her up, and let the kids rip. She looks after them, and loves them riding her. She's quiet in every respect on her back and on the ground. It's not many horses who can be bred in the purple, be set up to be a competition horse, and still entertain kids pony status - rare find! This is a very friendlly young mare, with a good trainable attitude and a good future as a competitor, a youth's mount and later as a broodmare.
You can catch Roc My Freckle anywhere. She is good to shoe, clip, rug, truck - whatever.
We had every intention of keeping this filly, but we have young fillies coming out our ears, and we honestly just can't ride them all. This has been a 12 mth decision as to whether we sell her or keep her, and it was with difficulty that we finally decided to sell her to make room for our young Sheriff* progney. Oaks Fleur was a very good mare herself, and has had some excellent progeny.
We still own another 2 young fillies out of Fleur. Teak N Spin is a Palomino 2yo Filly by CK Moscato (now sold who has broken in very well recently), and Shining Princess is a Palomino Filly about to get broken in, by Shining Sheriff (imp). This is a great family line that is sure to breed on. We would love to see Roc My Freckle go to a competition home.
