This is an awesome litter of crossbred pups.
I have always bred Short Haired Collies, and had an interest in Kelpies but generally found them too light in the bone, too 'busy', very time consuming to settle and train, and too noisy. I was very happy though when I found Dusty Roads to breed to.
Dusty Roads is from a champion line of working Kelpies from Victoria, and is a big strong and placid dog. He had very good bone, a broad head, very trainable, and a very nice dog to look at. He is a brown Kelpie.
Mandy is by Parrs Magic (Shaun McGuiggan's Australian Champion) and out of Jo McGuiggan's good bitch, who is by another good dog called Glen out of a good dog trial bitch of theirs. Mandy is one of my stable workers, she is a strong and quiet worker on cattle. She works very naturally, without much human direction. She works equally well on weaners, cows&calves, and bulls. She has no fear, but is not headstrong. She can work the lead, wing or tail, and is just a great all round good work dog.
These pups are beautiful pups. They are strong and healthy. They are regularly wormed, and have been microchipped and had their 1st vaccinations. They are available now. A description of the 4 pups follows. There are 3 photos of each pup, in the order below.
CHATTER: The biggest, strongest and most correct pup of the litter. He literally 'talks' to you when he gets out for his run. He is a bold pup, seems very trainable and already takes a keen interest in our chooks. HUGE bone structure, will work, trial and also make a good sire. CHATTER IS NOW SOLD.
HAPPY: Another very correct pup. He is a happy chappy, always keen for his runs, and very playful. He shows the most interest in herding the chooks, and is also a talker. He stalks everything, including the other pups. Will work well, and has a really trainable nature. Please note: HAPPY IS NOW SOLD.
MOLLY: A very different pup from the other 3. I would be just as happy to retain her. Her price is $450. She is the wild child. LOTS of energy, always into mischief. Loves the chooks and also seems like she will be very loyal. She will be very tough, is super athletic, and a real character. She wouldn't suit a house pet due to her energy.
WINSTON: Another very big and correct pup. Probably the near twin to Chatter, except Winston thinks he's special. He's a placid pup in nature, very friendly and is very quiet. But he will work, in fact he now displays the most intent interest in stock of all the pups, and is always stalking the other pups.He seems very trainable, and is shaping up like he would trial well. He would be a great sire, as he has great looks, huge bone and a good mind. He would be awesome in a hobby farm situation.
