SCROLL DOWN TO PHOTO LINKS OF OUR YEARLINGS
Our Yearling handling is just a progression of the foundations mentioned in Foals at Foot and Weanlings. They live in a supplemented paddock situation, and get pushed along in condition if necessary in the Spring, or through a very dry season.
They get caught every few months for worming, spraying, trimming and a few hours of tying up just to uphold their manners. Other than that, they are pretty much untouched. Ask any good horseman, and they'd much rather have a cautious mannerable colt, than a dead quite and numb one any day!
We find Yearlings have a more natural and lifetime stronger development in a controlled paddock situation. They are structurally stronger, with better feet, good heart and lung capacities, and they also develop a respect for fences and their peers.
We present our breakers in forward fresh condition, somewhere between 18 and 30 months, depending on their mental and physical maturity.
We like to try and break them in at home, either ourselves or professionally, depending the talent of the staff we have at the time.
Weanlings and Yearlings are our biggest sellers, so if there are any here that interest you, do contact us promptly, as they can sell very quickly.
